News Paper or No Use Paper

I live in Chandigarh the city beautiful . I am looking for a T-Shirt which has printed I love Chandigarh on it. Now the city is more EDUCATED than other cities in Punjab, Harayna, Hiamchal and J&K. We have The Tribune, Hindustan Times, Indian Express and Times of India battling here for supermacy. The newpapers here cost not more than 2 rupees. All newspapers are offering gifts for 3 months or 6 months subscription. We have subscribed to 3 newpapers. Now lets calculate the cost we are bearing 3 months expense of HT + Indian Express + Dainik Jagran = 300 Rs after rounding of everything. Gifts we got from HT alone was worth than 250 Rs. So our expense is just 50 Rs only and we can sell the usual RADDI and earn money from that Raddi. BTW most of the newspapers are RADDI I mean Kabaad I mean Junk. U just see Advertisements, lots of WOW HOT Photos and nothing else.

Love and hatered

A kindergarten teacher asked each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few potatoes. Each potato will be given a name of a person that the child hates, so the number of potatoes that a child will put in his/her plastic bag will depend on the number of people he/she hates. So on Monday, every child brought some potatoes with the name of thepeople he/she hated. Some had two potatoes, some had three potatoes, while some up to five potatoes. The teacher then told the children to carry with them the potatoes in the plastic bag wherever they go (even to the toilet) for the whole week. As days passed by, and the children started to complain due to the unpleasant smell let out by the rotten potatoes. Besides, those potatoes they also had to carry bags. On Friday, the children were relieved. The teacher asked: "How did you feel while carrying the potatoes with you for the whole week?" The children let out their frustrations and started complaining of the trouble that they had to go through having to carry the heavy and smelly potatoes wherever they go. Then the teacher explained: "This is exactly what happens when you carry your hatred for somebody inside your heart. The stench of hatred will contaminate your heart and you will carry it with you wherever you go. If we cannot tolerate the smell of rotten potatoes for just one week, can you imagine what is it like to have the stench of hatred in our heart for our lifetime? Forgiving others is the best attitude to take. Try to love others even if you don't like them." Many a times, we think that yes, I have already read this before, but the question to ask ourselves is: is it worth putting in practice ?when am I going to start ? We meet to create memories and part to preserve them...

the law of ummm attraction ???

I found the text below and thos I shud share g=GMm/r^2 Well , all science students must be familiar with this ; g is the gravity , G = Universal Gravitational Constant , M and m are masses of two bodies and r is the distance between them . But I have observed that this equation also measures the attractiveness quotient between two individuals. I categorise relationships into three major types : 1) Formal 2) Informal n casual 3) Close n personal Now letz see , in formal relationships , the physical and emotional distance is such that there is very little "g" : attraction . (Remember , g á 1/r^2 ) We meet people n we forget them as time passes.... Next is casual , where "r" decreases n "g" increases , there is a little pull , one wants to meet occasionally , chat n talk about “ idhar-udhar ki baatein “. The one where this attractiveness is highest is where there is least distance , both individuals are under the effect of each other’s pull n more closer u get , the more closer u wanna get…. N it becomes impossible to forget , but u see where they is too much energy , the personalities can collide and break each other into pieces , either it breaks their ego or shatters them from inside n both are changed… forever….!!!! N here's a quote to go with this : "Short distance quickens love , long distance kills it"

Sanskrit and Computer Sciences

Sanskrit Inspires Programming And Can Create New Business Opportunities For You The greatest programming geek was born a fool. Exasperated at not being able to understand Sanskrit grammar, he prayed hard to Shiva, the God of Dance and Destruction. Finally deep in his meditation, he heard the hand-drum of Shiva called the dumroo, play five times on one side, and nine times on the other. He opened his eyes enlightened, and wrote down these fourteen sounds as the famous 'Shiv Sutra'. Thus was born in India, in the estimated 5th century BC, the inspiration for all computer languages, as well as for all human languages and grammar. His name was Panini, and his book is simply called the 'Ashtadhyayi'. It contains 3,959 sutras, or aphorisms that describe the structure of Sanskrit completely. According to the wikipedia, its mathematical structure has been compared to the Turing Machine, Widely considered the father of modern computing, the British mathematician Alan Turing introduced the idea of an abstract machine in 1936 to give a mathematically precise definition of an algorithm, and his work is used in computation theory. The impact of the Ashtadhyayi is tremendous. I just downloaded a whitepaper titled 'Panini's Grammar and Computer Science' authored by Saroja Bhate and Subash Kak in1993. It states: "Computer-oriented studies on Asthadhyayi would also help to introduce AI (artificial intelligence), logic, and cognitive science as additional areas of study in the Sanskrit department of universities. This would allow the Sanskrit departments to complement the programme of the computer science departments. With the incorporation of these additional areas, a graduate of Sanskrit could hope to make useful contributions to the computer industry as well, particularly in the fields of natural language processing and artifical intelligence." Make Sanskrit Mukt While digging deep into my research into Panini's grammar, phonetics and phonology, I stumbled across an intruiging software. A freeware as in 'muft' software that interactively teaches students and scholars Panini's grammar. Visit http://www.taralabalu.org/panini/. Alas, the software only runs on Windows, and is not muft. So I promptly wrote an email to its author, Dr Shivamurthy Swamiji, explaining why this software should be GPL-ed or LGPL-ed and pointed him to gnu.org for more info. And then as I researched further, I was stunned to find sanskrit engines, translation sites, lexicon software, dictionaries, libraries, fonts, and a whole lot more devoted to this eternal language. You could visit http://sanskrit.inria.fr/portal.html to get a headstart on the resources available. Another fascinating project is available at http://sanskrit.inria.fr/. According to its author, "the site reflects an ongoing project of Sanskrit processing on a comprehensive software platform. The project is based on a structured lexicographic database, and on the Zen library of computational linguistics tools, implemented in Pidgin ML, functional core of the Objective Caml programming language. The Zen library and its documentation are available as free software under the Gnu General Public License from the Zen site." In simple English: Rejoice! Here's some significant work on sanskrit, that's muft and mukt. Closer home, the Centre for Development in Advanced Computing, or C-DAC has been working on Sanskrit since 1990. Its Indian Heritage Group based in Bangalore recently published its Sanskrit Authoring System (SAS). Find out more at http://www.cdac.in/html/connect/3q2000/art10a.htm. Sanskrit can move still further from pure research to pure technology. I wonder when will the software industry wake up and create jobs for sanskrit experts at Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe, Google, Intel, and all the other major software companies of the world. Panini shared the secrets of Shiva's dumroo to the world like a true opensource evangelist. You and I need to make sure in the poisoned world of proprietory software and software patents, Panini's sounds of the dumroo continue to ring loud with the beats of freedom.
